Atlas Bucks Packages: How Long Until You Break Even?

We ran the numbers on every Atlas Earth AB package from $4.99 to $99,999.99. Here's exactly how long each one takes to break even -- and why some packages are secretly terrible deals.

Atlas Earth sells Atlas Bucks (AB) in 11 packages ranging from $4.99 all the way up to $99,999.99 for 3.2 million AB. If you've ever wondered whether spending real money is worth it -- or how long it would actually take to earn your money back -- here are the exact numbers.

No hype, no guesswork. Just the math.

The Conversion Chain

Everything starts with one simple equation: 100 AB = 1 parcel. More parcels means more rent. More rent (with boost) means more dollars over time.

The complication is the boost tier system. Your ad boost multiplier depends on your total parcel count, not just the ones you buy. Buy too many at once and you drop into a lower tier, which reduces the earnings on every parcel you own -- including ones you already had.

All calculations below assume:

  • US boost tiers
  • 20 ads/day (20 hours of boost coverage)
  • 2 SRB events/month = 64 hours at 50x
  • No badge bonus (level 0)

Use the calculator to plug in your exact badge level for adjusted numbers.

Scenario 1: Starting From Zero

If you're brand new to Atlas Earth and these packages would be your only parcels, here's what each one earns and how long until you break even:

PackagePriceParcelsBoost TierMonthly (w/ SRB)Break-Even
110 AB$4.99130x$0.113.6 years
990 AB$39.99930x$1.033.2 years
2,550 AB$99.992530x$2.852.9 years
5,150 AB$199.995130x$5.822.9 years
12,900 AB$499.9912930x$14.732.8 years
26,000 AB$999.9926015x$17.314.8 years ⚠️
54,000 AB$1,9995408x$23.947.0 years
140,000 AB$4,999.991,4003x$39.8510.5 years
290,000 AB$9,999.992,9002x$73.3411.4 years
1,490,000 AB$49,999.9914,9002x$376.8211.1 years
3,200,000 AB$99,999.9932,0002x$809.2810.3 years

The 30x Sweet Spot

Packages 1 through 5 all land you in the 30x boost tier (≤150 parcels). That's the highest multiplier in the game, and it's why these packages have the best return on investment -- roughly 2.8 to 3.6 years to break even.

The best single purchase from zero is 12,900 AB for $499.99, which gets you 129 parcels at the maximum 30x tier. Break-even: 2.8 years.

The $999.99 Trap

Here's the counter-intuitive result hiding in the table: the $999.99 package is actually a worse deal than the $499.99 package.

  • $499.99 → 129 parcels at 30x → $14.73/month → breaks even in 2.8 years
  • $999.99 → 260 parcels at 15x → $17.31/month → breaks even in 4.8 years

You spend twice as much money, add 131 more parcels, and somehow end up with a worse return. Why? Because those 131 extra parcels push your total over 150, which drops every single one of your parcels from 30x to 15x. The tier drop cuts your per-parcel earnings nearly in half, and 260 parcels at 15x simply doesn't recover the loss.

If you have $1,000 to spend, two purchases of $499.99 would be the same problem -- you'd still land at ~258 parcels and drop to 15x. The 150-parcel ceiling is a hard wall. Once you cross it, the math changes dramatically.

Scenario 2: Already Have 150 Parcels

If you've been playing a while and earned 150 parcels through free AB and Atlas Arcade, you're sitting at the top of the 30x tier earning roughly $17.13/month. Now you're considering a purchase. Here's what happens:

The Tier Trap Is Real

Adding just 1 parcel to a 150-parcel account doesn't add $0.11/month. It costs you $4.68/month -- permanently, for as long as you own that account at that parcel count. Your existing 150 parcels all drop from 30x to 20x, and that loss exceeds the tiny gain from one new parcel.

Spending anything less than about $500 from a 150-parcel baseline will reduce your earnings. The first four packages all have a negative return. You'd literally be paying real money to earn less.

The $499.99 package does tip the balance positive, but here's the honest math on why 28.9 years isn't a typo:

  • At 150 parcels (30x): ~$205/year
  • At 279 parcels (15x) after buying: ~$223/year
  • The purchase only added: ~$18/year

The calculator will show ~$223/year at 279 parcels and you might think "$499.99 / $223 = 2.2 years, easy!" But your 150 parcels were already earning $205/year before you spent anything. The $499.99 package only added $18/year on top of that -- and at $18/year, it takes 28.9 years to recover the cost.

The tier drop is the reason. Going from 30x to 15x slashes the earnings on your existing 150 parcels so badly that 129 new parcels barely covers the loss. In this case you are better off staying at 150 parcels and keeping the $500.

When Bigger Actually Wins

Counterintuitively, if you're going to spend real money from a 150-parcel base, larger packages have significantly better break-even timelines than smaller ones:

  • $499.99 → 28.9 years
  • $1,999 → 18.3 years
  • $9,999.99 → 13.9 years
  • $99,999.99 → 10.5 years

This happens because large purchases push you so deep into the 2x zone that the sheer number of parcels outweighs the tier penalty. At 32,150 parcels, you're earning $813/month -- the tier efficiency is poor but the scale compensates.

Note that the $4,999.99 package (1,550 total, 2x) breaks even in 18.9 years -- slightly worse than the $1,999 package (690 total, 6x) at 18.3 years. Same phenomenon: the extra parcels drop you another tier, and at that specific count, the tier drop outweighs the quantity gain. If you're in the $2k–$5k range, the $1,999 package is actually the better purchase.

SRB Changes Everything at Scale

For small parcel counts in the 30x tier, SRB is a nice bonus -- it adds about 16% on top of your normal earnings. But for large accounts in the 2x tier, SRB is almost the entire business:

ParcelsMonthly With SRBMonthly Without SRBSRB Share
1,400$39.85$15.5961%
2,900$73.34$22.2070%
14,900$376.82$114.0770%
32,000$809.28$245.0070%

At the 2x tier, SRB accounts for 70% of your total monthly earnings. That's because going from 2x to 50x during SRB is a 25x improvement, while going from 30x to 50x at the top tier is only a 1.67x improvement.

If Atlas Reality ever changed SRB frequency, duration, or multiplier, large accounts would feel it far more than small ones. For anyone considering a $10k+ package, SRB isn't a bonus -- it's the core of the return.

Without SRB, the break-even on the $9,999.99 package stretches from 11 years to 37 years. With SRB, it's a meaningful income stream. Without it, it's essentially a sunken cost.

The Honest Verdict

Atlas Earth is not an investment vehicle. The best possible purchase -- 129 parcels for $499.99 starting from zero -- takes 2.8 years to break even on the dollars you earn out of the game. Most packages take 10+ years.

That said, there are reasonable reasons to spend:

It makes sense if:

  • You're already playing consistently, watching ads every day, and genuinely enjoying the optimization layer
  • You want to support a game you like and understand the earnings are a slow drip
  • You're targeting a specific tier jump that meaningfully improves your SRB return at scale
  • You have a patient, multi-year mindset

It doesn't make sense if:

  • You're hoping to earn money quickly
  • You haven't maxed out free AB sources first -- Atlas Arcade can earn you thousands of AB for time, not dollars
  • You're sitting at or near 150 parcels and considering a small package (you'll lose money in the short term)

The tier system rewards you for being strategic about when you buy, not just how much you spend. Use the calculator to model your current parcel count before spending anything -- the tier you land in matters as much as the number of parcels you get.
